It's an exciting and challenging time to be part of church planting and mission in the Lutheran Church of Australia. We are seeing a growing movement of church planting and evangelism. Everyone worships, says David Foster Wallace. But what we worship may eat us alive.
Worship comes naturally to us human beings. What doesn't come naturally is the true worship of the Living God, because it is so natural to put other things at the centre of life. We need to learn, and keep learning, what it is to worship God in Spirit and in Truth.
True worship plugs into the power of the throneroom of the universe, and the barriers between heaven and earth become much thinner.
This sermon was preached at Pakenham Lakeside Church on Sunday August 5th.
