The parable of the Good Samaritan is so well known that it's even gone down in the English language. But this is not just a 'nice story' Jesus told with an ethical exhortation at the end. Jesus engages in narrative theology - and the story he tells the expert in Jewish law has multiple layers of depth and meaning. It's actually a matter of life and death!

This is a fresh take on an old classic. A matter of life and death.
This sermon was preached at Pakenham Lakeside Church by Pastor Nathan Hedt on Sunday July 10th, 2016.

Galatians 5 talks about the 'freedom of the Spirit' and the 'fruit of the Spirit.' Both of these are results of the Gospel - the Freedom of the Gospel, and the Fruit of the Gospel - they grow out of the good news of God's loving and saving action for us through what Jesus has done for us.

The fruit of the spirit is the fruit of a life that has its roots down deep in God's good news, in God's love.
This sermon explores the well known passage of the fruit of the spirit in this passage.
It was preached at Pakenham Lakeside Church on Sunday 26th June, 2016.It can be used with the Prezi zooming visuals found at this link.
